The flute method Flauta a 3 is a book for transverse flute beginners and elementary levels, and it is intended for group classes. Its content is designed to cover both learning about the flute as an instrument and learning the language of music from scratch. The book is arranged in 20 modules, the material being ordered in line with the new notes introduced. Although this book can be used in the traditional way, working through it from start to finish, the idea behind arranging the material in modules was to make the contents combinable by selecting various sections from each module in order gain the skills sought. Each module also offers a game for working on. The aim of the games is not merely to make the work more agreeable: they are also intended to foster cohesion amongst the students, and to encourage group consolidation. The explanations given for the exercises and games were written with group classes of three students in mind, though the materials can easily be adapted for two or even one student.
