This collection of three pieces for piano was written during the 2014 Christmas period. Despite their total independence, the pieces were conceived as a whole, with an invisible link which, to me, responds to a very special mood. It is a collection of thoughts and emotions lived these last three years, a consequence of my meeting in Cameroon in 2011 of my wife-to-be, Annick. It is her thus to whom I dedicate these works, which breathe manifest contrasts, switching from contemplation, longing, and tenderness, to vehemence and passion. To me, the titles of the pieces are utterly evocative. The first piece, Recreació – Recreation – moves within a world of resonances, in subtle polyphony, close to a dreamlike character, reminding of a “brasserie” spirit. The second piece, .....Chopin, evokes the soul of the brilliant, unique Polish composer, the magician of the piano, without whom we might now not be able to grasp the spirit of the piano music by Scriabin or Mompou; so great is the message and the sound, the atmosphere impregnation of Frederic Chopin. Within the works’ formal discourse, I want to focus alternatively in the aspects of “Preludes” and “Nocturnes”. The third and last piece, La terra i l’espai – The Earth and The Space – is the most abstract. It opposes two elements, successively exposed in an clear ABA form. The Earth element presents, with a sweet yet serious cantilena, a weight characteristic of the force of gravity, to which we are all subjected. The Space, appearing in the B section, takes us to the unattainable worlds of weightlessness and other more esoteric aspects.

La clasificación del nivel de una partitura normalmente viene determinado por el grado de dificultad técnica del instrumento o voz. En los casos de obras para formaciones instrumentales diversas, orquestales, vocales, etc. el nivel se determina atendiendo a la complejidad general de la obra, no a la de sus instrumentos en particular. Es muy importante conocer este criterio porque las obras de conjunto aparecen también en los listados específicos de cada uno de sus instrumentos o voces que participan en él, pero el nivel que se indica es el de la formación instrumental-vocal.
