“Trincameró” is a piece in three movements, and is unique as it involves three solo tenoras accompanied by cobla. It was released as part of the COBLA COR I DANSA AL PALAU cycle and was commissioned by the Fundació Orfeó Català Palau de la Música in order to celebrate the 150th anniversary of tenora. Thus, on 23 February 2000, the EL GRAN VIRTUOSISME DE TENORA cycle concert took place, where this piece debuted, with performances by the soloists Josep Gispert, Jordi Molina and Jaume Vilà, accompanied by the cobla La Principal de La Bisbal under the baton of its composer.
The concert’s structure intended to emulate the success of years past, in the 90s, of the concerts by The Three Tenors (Pavarotti, Domingo and Carreras), while making parallelisms between “The three tenors” (singers) and “The three tenoras” (instrumentalists). After the official premiere, the same concert structure has been employed at various music festivals in Catalonia.
Subsequently and due to the good general acclaim the piece received, the Municipal Band of Barcelona also asked me for a transcription for this training. The transcription debuted on 29 October 2017 in a concert in Hall 2 of the Auditorium of Barcelona, with the soloists Jordi Figaró, Enric Ortí and Jordi Molina accompanied by the Municipal Band and Salvador Brotons as director.
