This book talks about children's musical education. It defines a theoretical frame for the teaching and learning of music, which is based on psychological, pedagogic, sociocultural and constructivist principles. It tries to give an example of the application of these principles within the classroom by describing the activities carried out, belonging to the music works and the composition itself. It shows the interactive dynamics which develops between pupils and teachers within a constant process of audible production and discovery.
The innovation and research group REMIS SANT CUGAT of the Department for Didactics and Musical, Plastic and Physical Expression of the Barcelona Universitat Autònoma hereby presents the result of 10 years of work in collaboration between university and school. During this period of time, innovation, education of the teaching staff and research has been especially focused on a pilot group: the Escola de Música Victòria dels Àngles in Sant Cugat del Vallès.
