<br/> Born in Barcelona, Jesús Rodríguez Picó studied music at the Liceu Music School (Conservatorio Superior de Música del Liceu), completing advanced studies there.<br />
<br/> He is an instrumentalist and composer, and he pursued his clarinet studies in France. He later became acquainted with the contemporary-music repertoire, performing as a clarinetist with various specialist ensembles, such as the Grupo Instrumental Català, Solars Vortices, Multimúsica etc. From 1976 to 1990, he gave many concerts and made many radio recordings, disseminating clarinet music, and gave the first performances of works by contemporary composers.<br />
<br/> His compositions have been performed by ensembles and orchestras such as Diabolus in Musica, Solars Vortices, Grupo Koan, Orquestra Simfònica de Barcelona i Nacional de Catalunya, the Minsk Philharmonic, Orquesta Nacional de España, etc.<br />
<br/> He won the composition competition prize in 1982, and he has taught music at various music schools and in the Badalona senior school (Conservatorio Profesional de Música de Badalona). He has worked with many broadcasting companies, such as Radio Barcelona, and with specialist periodicals. He was also a bord member of 'Catalaunya Música/Revista Musical Catalana' (1989-91). He produced the project for the Catalan classical-music station 'Catalunya Música' in 1987, and he was head of programmes there down to December 1990, when he left to start working in conjunction with the Department of Culture of the Autonomous Government of Catalonia.<br />
<br/> He returned to teaching work in 1995, and added a number of works for performance by music students to his catalogue of compositions.<br />
<br/> His compositions have been published by Editorial Boileau, La Mà de Guido, Catalana d'Edicions Musicals, Clivis Publicacions, DINSIC and Amalgama Edicions. Located in the very heart of the old town of Barcelona, DINSIC Publicacions Musicals, SL was found in 1988 by Francesca Galofré Mora as a response to her great pedagogical vocation and with the aim of disseminating knowledge and musical production.<br />

Today, with more than twenty years of constant work, the publishing company devotes itself to promoting the publication of several books and materials destined to musical education in all its fields: music schools and conservatories, school in all its levels and university.<br />
<br />
Its collection includes scores ranging from solo parts, literature for chamber ensembles and orchestras to the great symphonic repertoire, as well as works for choir in all its formations. Some of these collections include publications of critical studies in several languages.</div>

He later became acquainted with the contemporary-music repertoire, performing as a clarinetist with various specialist ensembles, such as the Grupo Instrumental Català, Solars Vortices, Multimúsica etc. From 1976 to 1990, he gave many concerts and made many radio recordings, disseminating clarinet music, and gave the first performances of works by contemporary composers.<br />
His compositions have been performed by ensembles and orchestras such as Diabolus in Musica, Solars Vortices, Grupo Koan, Orquestra Simfònica de Barcelona i Nacional de Catalunya, the Minsk Philharmonic, Orquesta Nacional de España, etc.<br />
He won the composition competition prize in 1982, and he has taught music at various music schools and in the Badalona senior school (Conservatorio Profesional de Música de Badalona). He has worked with many broadcasting companies, such as Radio Barcelona, and with specialist periodicals. He was also a bord member of 'Catalaunya Música/Revista Musical Catalana' (1989-91). He produced the project for the Catalan classical-music station 'Catalunya Música' in 1987, and he was head of programmes there down to December 1990, when he left to start working in conjunction with the Department of Culture of the Autonomous Government of Catalonia.<br />
He returned to teaching work in 1995, and added a number of works for performance by music students to his catalogue of compositions.<br />
His compositions have been published by Editorial Boileau, La Mà de Guido, Catalana d'Edicions Musicals, Clivis Publicacions, DINSIC and Amalgama Edicions. Noteworthy among the various recordings of his works are two focusing solely on his works: the first one features a number of compositions dating from the period 1988 ' 1991, such as his first clarinet concerto ('Concert per a clarinet i orquestra núm. 1') and his 'Imatges de l'Alícia' (Images of Alicia), while the second features chamber works for clarinet and piano.<br />
He wrote a book on Xavier Bengerel ('Xavier Bengerel, obra y estilo'), which is published by Idea Books.<br />
He has written two operas: 'El paradís de les muntanyes' (The Paradise of the Mountains), based on Alfred Jarry, which was first performed by the Teatre Lliure in Barcelona in 1998, and 'Hotel Occident' (Western Hotel), on a text by Lluïsa Cunillé.</div>
