(Educational Content of Mikrokosmos) Béla Bartók´s Mikrokosmos is recognized the world over as the most important piano method written in the 20th century. This work in contemporary language covers all the technical aspects of modern piano. In addition, the author composed this work with rigor and admirable seriousness. My analysis tries to facilitate the task for professors who use this method, making Bartók's language more easily understood. I have analysed one by one the 96 pieces which make up the first three volumes, just as one of the exercises proposed by the author. The aspects commented on are: the scales used by Bartok (tonals, modals, five-note, chromatics; the circles of diminshed 5th, bitonal works...); formal structure (phrases and periods); the most prominent teaching characteristics; the most interesting rhythmic aspects; expressive content and, finally, chamber music (works for two pianos and songs with piano accompaniment).
